Backstage
The show opens with a peek backstage where fans are gathered around the patio as Elina Cartel, the Genesis Champion, steps out to greet them. They cheer and applaud her as she holds the Genesis Championship high over her head, putting it on display. She lets the Championship rest over her shoulder.
Elina Cartel — Thank you all for coming. I’m really happy to be here and I’m even happier to be cleared to compete tonight!
The fans clap and cheer and a younger female fan is handed a microphone, as she has a question.
Fan — Hi Elina, I have a question for you, can anyone be a fighter?
Elina smiles.
Elina Cartel — It takes a lot of training, studying, and perseverance, but yes, anyone can, if they put their minds to it. It’s just like any other trade or career. Well, except it’s one of the few where you get to carry a big belt like this.
The mic is carried to the next fan who is an older male.
Fan — What are your thoughts on the ladder match? I think Lex Collins totally got screwed over.
Elina Cartel — The match was unorthodox, to say the least. To contend that anyone was ‘screwed over’ seems a bit of a stretch, however. It was an honor to be involved in the match, win or lose..
Fan — Yeah right, you only say that because you won. If you didn’t, you’d feel cheated.
Elina Cartel — I don’t focus on the negatives like that. I focus on the positives. Even in my win, I look over how the night went and I think about what I can do better, how I can be better, and what I can change, moving forward, to be a better competitor. I trust Lex Collins is doing the same.
The mic is carted to another fan, this one is a male who looks like he’s in his mid twenties. When Elina sees him, her breath is stolen from her lungs for a moment.
Fan — Hi Elina. Long time no see. Well, not that long, but out in the open like this? It’s great. You look great. I’m excited for you. The question I have for you is… Are you over the past or is it still the only thing you think about?
Elina is speechless. She takes a step backwards, eyes still wide. She shakes her head.
Elina Cartel — I’m sorry, I… I don’t have time to answer any more questions. I thank you all for coming.
Elina disappears from the patio as the camera focuses on the man who shook her so suddenly. He greets the camera with a toothy smile as the cameras cut away.
Finale vs Logan Traeger
Singles Match
Singles Match
Once the bell rings, Trager looks over his shoulder and shoots a wink to his manager and girlfriend, Sadie. Finale looks to capitalize on the distraction and charges, only to be met with a back elbow from Logan! Finale staggers back a few steps and Traeger closes the distance quickly. The pair locks up, battling back and forth as the crowd seems divided down the middle in their cheers. Finale gains the upper hand and hits an impressive release German suplex. Traeger shakes it off as he gets back to his feet, pacing the ring and further sizing up his opponent.
Finale steps in once again, but this time Logan is ready with a hip toss that he uses to drop Finale onto his upturned knee! Finale clutches his spine as he rolls across the ring, but forces himself to his feet and charges again. Traeger catches him with a spinning side slam and goes into a pin, only getting a two count. The two trade a few blows before Finale turns a backdrop into a falling side slam of his own! He then follows up with a pin, also getting only two before Logan gets the shoulder up.
Finale stays on the offensive, not letting Traeger get up fully before whipping him across the ring into the corner. Finale hits a corner splash before hopping up onto the second rope and laying into Logan with a barrage of elbow strikes. Outside the ring Sadie shouts encouragement to Traeger. After jumping down from the ropes Finale sends a boot to Traeger’s midsection and then hooks him up for a fisherman’s buster that earns a gasp from the crowd. Finale drops and goes for the pin getting One… Two… and only two as Logan gets his shoulder up.
Outside the ring Sadie laughs at the frustration on Finale’s face and cheers on her client. Finale’s annoyance at the perceived taunt shows and he hops up, striding over to the ropes and shouting something at her. Logan, known for being viciously protective of his girlfriend, whips Finale around by the shoulder and lays into him with several closed fist strikes until he receives a warning from the referee. With Finale still off balance, Logan seizes the opportunity and lays him out with the Second City Sacrifice, his Gory Special Reverse STO! Just as Traeger is about to go for the pin, he stops short.
Another figure has appeared outside the ring, and it’s… Konstantine?! Konstantine grabs one of Finale’s legs and drags him out under the bottom rope. Logan rolls out of the ring on the other side, taking Sadie’s hand and retreating back up the aisle to the stage entrance. The referee calls for the bell, ending the match. As soon as he does, Konstantine savagely stomps away at Finale, catching him in the face several times. Finale is barely moving when Konstantine lifts him up onto his shoulders into a torture rack which he tightens unbearably. The referee tries to get Konstantine to let go, but is ignored until Konstantine is good and ready, at which time he drops Finale across the barrier and backs up to the stage with a smirk on his face.
Winner: No Contest

The screen above the entrance cuts to the familiar studio setting that we've seen Alex Easton conducting his interviews in. Per the norm we are immediately greeted with Easton's smiling face. However before he even gets a chance to introduce his guest we hear who it is.
K-Remix — Welcome to the RE-RE-REMIX!
Alex Easton continues smiling while trying to pretend he isn't the slightest bit perturbed.
Alex Easton — As you can tell by the outburst, my guest tonight is none other than K-Remix. Welcome Mr. Remix.
K-Remix shakes his head.
K-Remix — Mr. Remix sounds like an off brand Dr. Pepper. Call me K, Call me Remix, Call me Swagzilla. Or even call me your highness king of Swagtopia. Just exnay on the Mr. Remix.
Alex Easton nods his head.
Alex Easton — Well, welcome, K.
K-Remix — Thanks Alex, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world right now. Well okay, maybe like 19 other places. But still, this is top 20 easily. You should be proud of that.
Alex Easton — They weren't kidding, you are a handful.
K-Remix — Well yeah, look at me. I'm clearly well over 50 handfuls.
Easton tries not to give in and keeps the conversation interview moving along like a true professional.
Alex Easton — You come from very well-known wrestling parents. Are you looking to carry on their legacy in the ring, or are you trying to make one of your own?
K-Remix — I feel as though they gave me a blueprint that I draw heavily from. However am I following it down to the letter? Absolutely not. It's well documented that my father and I have vastly different opinions on a lot of things. So, a lot of things he did are things that I'd never even think about doing. In the end I'd say that I'm building my legacy on a foundation that they supplied for me.
Alex Easton — In your own words, who is K-Remix?
K-Remix — The opposite of Lex Collins? Ewww, shots fired. Does that answer your question? K-Remix is a damn lunatic. I have no business saying half of the shit that I say. Yet, I still say it. I have no business doing half of the shit that I do. Yet, I still do it. I've said on multiple occasions that the fans never have to worry about me trying to portray myself as something I'm not. That's never going to change. K-Remix and Kristopher Jesus Carter Jr. are the same guy. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you approach me on the street then you're going to get the EXACT same guy that you see in my promos. A funny, swagged out, sexy as hell, and lit as fuck wrestler. One that is improving every week. And one that will be spoken of as one of the greatest of all time before his career is over.
Alex Easton — So basically outside of the ring you're a man without a filter? And inside of it you should be taken as serious as a heart attack?
K-Remix — Yeah, I pretty much say what comes to mind. However a heart attack? Not serious enough. Now a heart attack sprinkled with AIDS and Cancer? That level of serious!
Alex Easton — Fair enough. What drew you to ASCENT and what do you hope to accomplish while you’re here?
K-Remix — Well what initially drew my attention to ASCENT was the signing of James Raven. A federation that could attract that kind of star power is the kind of federation that I thought I should look into. After checking it out, everything seemed great. Even though there have been a few bumps here and there along the way. I still feel that ASCENT is a great place to compete and will be extremely successful.
Alex Easton — So far there are no plans for tag teams in ASCENT, but if you could pick someone from the roster to be a partner, who would it be and why?
K-Remix — Bruh, I don't even think you realize the can of worms you’re about to make me open. But what the hell, let's crack it open. Before recent events I would have said James Raven. I used to watch the guy and he would absolutely wreck shit. He still does when his heart is in it but lately that hasn't been the case. I'd give you my second choice which is Tiffany and not just so I could admire her butt from the corner. She legitimately reminded me a lot of myself when I researched her. However, now she is in the exact same boat as James Raven. The third choice? That would be Viola Wolff but her heart isn't in it either. The amount of talent that's being squandered right now by people who seemingly just don't give a shit is absolutely mind boggling. So honestly, I guess my answer to that question is nobody. Unless I can pick myself, then it's me. Can you imagine having two of me? That would be so lit. ASCENT wouldn't be able to withstand that amount of pure unbridled awesomeness.
Alex Easton — Looking forward to the end of the first season, who would you guess will be the one to be the first ASCENT Apex Champion?
K-Remix puts two fingers from his right hand on his left wrist.
Alex Easton — Is everything okay?
K-Remix — Oh, I was just checking my pulse to make sure that I was still alive. Turns out that all is well. So that answer is an obvious one. K-REMIX! Swag King Supreme. King of Swag Style. Mr. Blood, Sweat, and Swag! Last but not least, soon to be Ascent Apex Champion.
Alex Easton — Yeah. I suppose I should have known what that answer was going to be. But, I still had to ask. Thank you for joining me Mr…
K-Remix glares at Easton.
Alex Easton — I mean thanks for joining me K.
K-Remix — No problem Alex. Anytime you and the higher ups need me to be on screen in order to make the ratings spike. Just give me a call and I'll be there. The camera loves me. I don't love it. However it's definitely got side chick potential.
Alex Easton — I don't know what to say to that so we're just going to end things there folks.
With that the screen above the ramp goes black for the next match.
K-Remix vs Tiffany
Singles Match
Singles Match
Tiffany starts off in control of the match, taking K-Remix down with a step up enziguri. She immediately goes up top for a meteora that has the crowd on its feet. She hooks the leg, but K kicks out after just one. Tiffany keeps her cool and hauls K to his feet without letting go of his arm. She drags him to the corner and leaps gracefully up onto the top turnbuckle for a rope-walk arm drag that sends K-Remix halfway across the ring. Before he can even think about getting up, Tiffany is there to slam his head into the mat several times, finally being waved off by the ref.
Showing remarkable resilience, K pulls himself to his feet before the official has to start a count out. He does his best to shake off Tiffany’s salvo, focusing in on her every move. Tiffany sends a foot into K’s gut, but he catches the leg and hits a dragon screw leg whip! A chant breaks out as he gets to his feet once more, and goes for a dazzling standing moonsault. K-Remix hooks the leg at the urging of the crowd and goes for the pin. One… Two… Tiffany gets her shoulder up just before the three! Half the crowd is behind her while the other half urges on K-Remix.
The two collide in the middle of the ring and K gains the upper hand, trying to whip Tiffany to the ropes. Tiffany reverses and sends K-Remix headlong into the ropes instead! K thinks fast and pops up, rebounding off the middle rope for a springboard hurricanrana that takes Tiffany to the mat once again! Tiffany only barely manages to get away before K can start raining down the elbow strikes. However, as she’s about to get to her feet, he sprints in and nails her with a shining wizard! K once again goes for the pin, but still only gets two before Tiffany gets her shoulder up!
K-Remix tries to pull Tiffany to her feet, but she breaks free with a quick jab. While K is still recovering she throws an arm around his neck and takes him down with a running bulldog. No sooner has K rolled onto his back than Tiffany hits an unexpected grounded heart punch! K clutches his chest and sags back against the canvas. Tiffany keeps an eye on him as she scales the turnbuckles, rising to her full height as she takes aim. She leaps off, flipping through the air looking for her Sky High 450 splash… But no one is home!
K-Remix rolls out of the way just in time and Tiffany hits the canvas hard. The referee reaches five as each of the two struggles to recover. K stands on his own while Tiffany uses the ropes to pull herself up. The crowd is still divided, cheering them both on. They charge, meeting in the middle of the ring… and K-Remix hits the Zero Chill! The crowd gasps as the K goes for the pin and gets One… Two… Three!
Winner: K-Remix
In Ring
The lights go down and a spotlight is shone on the entrance. “Cirice” by Ghost comes on and two cloaked and hooded figures emerge from the entrance. One of them is significantly taller and broadly built up that the other. They stop and take in the confused audience. She smaller figure leads the taller one to the ring and goes around. A few people in the front row who get a glimpse of the smaller figure gasp in surprise. They go the the ring after making their round and the small one picked up from behind with ease and placed on the apron. The big one jumps on the apron and holds the ropes open for the small one to get in the ring. They finally get in the center of the ring and lower their hoods as the song fades away.
The man on the left grimaces at the crowd. He is bald with a long brown beard. He has runes drawn on his face. The small woman next to him bears an even stranger appearance. She looks right into the camera with her purple brown eyes and purple sclera. She has scarification marks on her face in a specific pattern that could not be mistaken for an attack and her ears are pointed. She raises her hand and the man goes into action threatening and scowling at the audience in spanish. The crowd boos him. He demands a mic and hands it to the woman.
Socorro Romero — Welcome us to Ascent!.
The crowd gives her a mix reaction.
Socorro Romero — I am Socorro Romero and this is my gift to you all Furia de la Merced!
Furia lifts his arms up and we see his tattooed, muscular body. Socorro looks at him with reverence
Socorro Romero — We come from forsaken lands in an old country of mystery and myth. What is new is fake and insincere. We aim to bring you back to a time of honesty and justice. Celebrities are your false idols and money is your God. The old ways are dying but we will revive them. In those times one was given a place in the world and to toil was comfort. To rise up was hard and it required much sacrifice and it always involved blood.
She points backstage.
Socorro Romero — We are here to take your sacrifice. Those that want to rise in this new world of ours will have to go through my test You will have much suffering but it will make you stronger. If you can pass this you deserve everything you want. If you do not you will get the mercy of defeat to end the suffering. I have been waiting to bleed my tool and this is our opportunity. His strength is mine and my will is his. There will be no favors and no easy passes. There is only the test. That is the new truth of Ascent and there will be suffering..
Konstantine vs James Raven
Singles Match
Singles Match
No sooner does the bell ring than James surges out of his corner and sprints for Konstantine. Raven throws a wild lariat, but Konstantine coolly ducks under and whips James into the ropes. On the rebound Konstantine catches James for a thunderous spinebuster. James is back on his feet quickly, circling around the ring to get to top speed on a running dropkick. Konstantine stumbles back into the ropes and James lunges in to take him down with an arm drag. Raven mounts up for the classic ground and pound, but Konstantine dodges the first punch he throws and James’ knuckles connect with nothing but canvas.
Konstantine throws Raven off as the other man is distracted clutching his hand. James just barely starts to get to his feet before Konstantine gives him a stiff kick to the ribs, sending him rolling across the ring. Raven is still holding his side as he gets to his feet, keeping an eye on Konstantine and trying to maintain distance as he recovers. Konstantine presses the advantage, stalking forward and looking to wrap him up. James hits a snap DDT as soon as Konstantine is close enough! He goes for the pin, but gets less than one before Konstantine throws him off.
James is back to his feet in a hurry, catching an incoming Konstantine for a belly-to-belly suplex. Konstantine is up again in a flash, and charges a second time, Raven ducking around behind for a half nelson suplex! Konstantine is still right back on his feet. Winner: Konstantine
Behind the Scenes
Away from the eyes of fans and ASCENT talent alike, General Manager Erik Hawke has called play-by-play announcer Raina Miles into his office, leaving Alex Easton to fill in on commentary for a match. While the tone of the conversation remains civil, there is a mild tension in the room.
Erik Hawke — It’s nothing personal, Raina, your talent on commentary speaks for itself. It’s no secret that I’m less than up to date on social media trends, but allowing you to run the company Twitter account was on a trial basis from the start. Your passion for the business, and for ASCENT is one of the reasons I hired you to begin with, but I think you might just be a bit too involved for the job.
Raina Miles — If this is about what I said over—
Erik holds up a hand, trying to stem the tide of Raina’s fury.
Erik Hawke — I understand how you feel about that situation, I truly do. Unfortunately unprofessionalism is something we’ve all got to deal with in our line of work.
Raina Miles — He has no business being in our business! First the lack of communication about prior conflicts!
Erik Hawke — Raina...
Raina Miles — And then that half-baked, bitch-ass comment he tried making to hide his own cowardice and laziness. It was unwarranted, unprofessional, whiny...
Erik Hawke — Raina...
At last it seems to get through to the announcer that Hawke has been trying to get a word in edge-wise.
Raina Miles — I’m sorry, but I can’t stand that sort of self-absorbed, me first, hypocritical, cancerous...
Erik Hawke — I know, Raina, believe me, I know how you feel. I don’t disagree with you. We will go on without him. We will grow and excel and he will do what he does. I just think that when it comes to presenting ourselves to the public, a milder approach may be the safer one. All that passion and fire of yours belongs at the announcer’s table where you shine like the light of a hundred suns.
Raina gives Hawke a sideways glance, knowing that he’s using the compliment to try to win her over. After a few moments she gives him a smile to let him know that it’s worked before excusing herself to return to ringside. Once his office is empty, Erik gives a sigh of relief.
Scarlett Anthem vs Elina Cartel
Genesis Championship Match
Genesis Championship Match
Elina comes out of her corner hot as soon as the bell rings, determined to retain her Genesis Championship. She clobbers Scarlett with a flying forearm, driving the other woman back into the turnbuckles. Backing up nearly to her own corner, Elina gets a running start and delivers a blistering double knee right to the chest of Scarlett. The crowd is behind Cartel as she whips Anthem over to the mat with a snapmare and locks in a rear naked choke. Scarlett struggles against the hold, then thinks fast and reaches toward the ropes. Elina twists her away, trying to prevent the break, but Scarlett manages to get the ropes on the opposite side in the process!
Anthem gets to her feet as the choke is released. Cartel strides up behind her, hoping to catch Scarlett unaware. Anthem spins around for a big discus punch, knocking Cartel back several paces. An impressive exploder suplex sends Elina tumbling across the ring, but she rolls through and manages to come up in a crouch. The two women clash in the middle of the ring, trading blows at a breakneck pace. Scarlett throws an elbow that staggers Elina, then grabs her shoulders and jumps up for a double knee facebreaker that lays the champion out! Anthem goes for the cover and gets only two before Cartel gets a shoulder up.
Scarlett yanks Elina to her feet and whips her across the ring toward the turnbuckles. Cartel hops up at the last second and twists in the air to catch Anthem with a top rope leg lariat on the way down! Elina pops back to her feet and hits Scarlett with a knee drop before Anthem rolls away and scrambles to a stand. Scarlett ducks in under Elina’s guard and hooks an arm around her head, running to the ropes and flipping back over Cartel for a shiranui! Anthem pivots around on the mat and throws an arm over Elina, but Cartel gets the shoulder up quickly.
Leaving Elina to try to shake it off, Scarlett stalks over to the turnbuckle and climbs to the top. She bides her time and waits for the right moment, leaping off to drive Cartel into the canvas with a meteora! Scarlett uses the position and rains down mounted punches as the crowd counts along with all ten. At last Cartel manages to deflect one and throw Anthem off of her. Merch Vendor — Scarlett Anthem! New champion, everybody! Give it up for Scarlett Anthem!
There’s applause, and all of it makes Scarlett blush in the face of it, her pride welling up inside her as she lifts an arm.
Scarlett Anthem — Thank you! Thank you! It wasn't easy! But I did it!
The attention previously focused on Ascent Merchandise, is now on her as she approaches the stand eyeing the expectant Merch Vendor.
Merch Vendor — What can I get ya, champ?
Scarlett’s smile could spark a thousand dying suns as the crowd surrounds her and all eyes and ears await her answer.
Scarlett Anthem — Can I get a shirt for my mo—
She stops, eyeing the throng of adoring supporters all waiting to hear what she meant to say. Scarlett considers, thinking of her mom back home, and then these fine folks surrounding her.
Scarlett Anthem — T-Shirts for everybody!
A huzzah from the crowd as the excited Merch Vendor gets to work, tossing out Scarlett Anthem t-shirts to the adoring crowd. A chant starts in as the people receive their wicked t-shirts with her face on them.
Crowd — Scar-lett! Scar-lett! Scar-lett!
Her smile widens, and widens in the face of this overwhelming support. She hoists the Genesis Championship into the air to more raucous applause from the crowd. And Scarlett basks in the glow of being surrounded by admirers and supporters.

Jud Kennelly vs Viola Wolff
Singles Match
Jud Kennelly vs Viola Wolff
Singles Match
Viola circles Jud slowly once the bell has rung, sizing him up and looking for her openings. Kennelly smirks back, looking amused and more than a little bit cocky. As Viola closes in Kennelly springs to action, looking for a shuffle side kick. Wolff dodges expertly and lays a kick into the back of his thigh. Jud clutches his leg as the muscle cramps up, but Viola is relentless and kicks again… and again! Wolff drops back into the ropes and comes in for a vicious chop block that levels Kennelly. She follows up with a running senton and then goes for the pin, getting two before Jud kicks out.
The amusement is gone from Kennelly’s face when he stands, shaking his leg out. Jud sidesteps Viola as she lunges in and catches her for a three-quarter nelson suplex. He follows with a knee drop right to the sternum, leavin Viola gasping for air. Kennelly creates some space between them before somersaulting forward for a rolling senton, clearly mocking her earlier move, and hooks her leg for the pin after the splash. The crowd jeers, seeming to taunt them both, as Jud goes for the pin. Viola kicks out just as quickly, sending an elbow into Kennelly’s temple in the process.
Taking advantage as Kennelly is slightly slower to get up, Wolff hits a soccerball kick that knocks him back to the mat. With a wicked grin on her face, Viola launches off of the middle rope for a diving knee drop right to the ribs she had just kicked. Kennelly rolls across the ring to give himself some distance, holding his side. Wolff stalks her prey, going for another kick, but Jud catches her leg and takes her down, applying a leg lock! Wolff snarls in pain and tries to break free. She all but shoves the referee away when he asks if she wants to quit, and is finally able to get a hand on the bottom rope to force the break.
As soon as he lets go of the submission, Kennelly grabs a fistful of Viola’s hair and yanks her to her feet, only to deliver a one knee backbreaker! Jud goes for a low kick as Wolff begins to rise, but Viola catches his leg this time and brings him down with a dragon screw! She leaps to her feet and hits a running double foot stomp. Kennelly is slow to get up, but Viola is also still feeling the effects of that leg lock. Wolff takes him down with a hurricanrana. Jud fires back with a side suplex that he can’t quite roll into the pin.
Both wrestlers have to use the ropes to get to their feet, but Viola is the first charge, hitting a basement dropkick to Kennelly’s knee. Jud sneaks in an eye rake when Wolff tries to grab him, sending her staggering backward. The two glare daggers at one another from opposite sides of the ring. They charge in unison, each going for a vicious superkick… and they both connect! Viola and Jud both collapse to the canvas after the simultaneous kicks. The referee starts the count, and by the ten neither of them has moved. The bell rings and medical staff hurry from the back to help the two out of the ring.
In Ring
Once the ring has cleared, ASCENT’s theme song, “Tonight” fills the studio and GM Erik Hawke appears on the stage. The crowd gives a cheer, which Hawke waits to die down.
Erik Hawke — We couldn’t be more pleased to see you all here tonight. The support of fans like your is what will keep ASCENT coming back here for show after show. We aren’t the biggest production out there, and right now I can’t even claim that to be a goal. We can’t bring you pyrotechnics and big arenas, but what we can bring you is some of the best rising talent in the business like K-Remix.
The crowd breaks into cheers again.
Erik Hawke — Like our first Genesis Champion, Elina Cartel, and our new Genesis Champion, Scarlett Anthem.
Tandem chants break out for the two, the names echoed back and forth in a deafening roar.
Erik Hawke — We hope to bring you more guest talent like Logan Traeger and more additions like Furia de la Merced. And the only way we can do that is with support from you. Independant wrestling as a whole needs you, and that is why we are proud to have affiliated with Elysium Pro Wrestling and Fight 2 Win. When you’re not here cheering for your favorite ASCENT stars, be sure to check them out. Thank you all for coming, and we look forward to seeing you here again in two weeks.
